I am compensated in 3 ways. For investment management I charge a percentage fee that is based on total family assets. As total assets go up the fee percentage is lowered in correspondence to the MC Wealth grid. For insurance policies I am paid a commission directly from the insurance company upon completion of all requirements. For fee only planning I charge a dollar amount that is dependant on the complexity of the plan. Any fees you may incur are always disclosed prior to incurring them.

We typically work with business owners and more specifically farmers and chiropractors who are in a stage of growth, preparing for retirement or recently retired. Although we do have clients who are not farmers or chiropractors, those areas are our specialty.

As all licenced advisors must obtain, I have my mutual funds/ETF licence and life & accident and sickness licence. These licences allow me to work with investment and insurance products. In addition, I am a Certified Financial Planner®. Regarded as the gold standard of financial planning designations the CFP® helps to iterate competence across all areas of financial planning. I obtained this designation to improve my knowledge and help relay my competence and abilities to clients.

MC Wealth was created with the goal of providing high quality service to clients. Our standard client service process is that clients receive quarterly statements electronically or by mail. Every 6 months after becoming a client we will send a video update via email discussing current events and your portfolio. Finally we strive to complete a review with you every 12-18 months. If anything major happens or something comes up we feel you should know we will always communicate that to you outside of these set touchpoints.

CIRO protects investors deposits for up to $1,000,000 and there is also CDIC protection for up to $100,000 per insured category on GICs. In addition, we personally carry Errors and Omissions Insurance that is consistently maintained to help protect both MC Wealth and our clients.

CIRO, provincial insurance regulators, FP Canada, PEAK Investment Services, HUB and insurance companies all have codes of conduct we will abide by. Each of them will enforce these rules and help us to follow them. We always prioritize acting in the best interests of our clients and are pleased to have professional oversight.
